Welcome

Welcome to RepairMyCeiling.

RepairMyCeiling provides a specialised service to repair sagging plasterboard ceilings

With 25 years experience in residential plastering industry we’ve noticed an alarming trend of plasterboard ceilings not lasting for the life of the building due to poor installation practices

We know exactly what causes these issues and have put together a system to fix your ceiling as quickly and smoothly as possible

Taking care of the entire process from start to finish we are your remedial ceiling specialists

Our Process

Why do ceilings fail?

  • Plasterboard ceilings are installed using a combination of adhesive and screws. Fixing the plasterboard ceiling directly to roof trusses

  • Sagging ceilings are a result of the failure of either the adhesive or screws to keep the ceiling securely fixed over time

  • Poor installation practices are responsible for a large percentage of failed ceilings

  • Any moisture from condensation or roof leaks will also contribute to potential issues

What can be done about it?

There are 2 ways to rectify the issue of failed fixings and sagging/dropped ceilings

1.Refix your existing plasterboard ceiling

This is the preferred option when we can address the issue quick enough

Advantages

  • Quicker

  • Cheaper

  • Less mess

  • Can often work around furniture

  • Ceiling insulation can stay in place

  • Light fixtures can stay in place

2. Remove and replace your ceiling

This is required where your ceiling has been sagging for too long and is unable to be fixed back into place

This is a bigger exercise that will involve

  • More time and materials expense

  • Furniture must be removed from effected areas

  • Insulation replaced

  • Light fittings removed and reconnected by electrician

We recommend a periodic ceiling inspection by a licenced plasterer for peace of mind and address any issues in the cheapest and easiest way possible

What is your process?

We offer a free ceiling assessment which we recommend you take advantage of periodically.

We provide a comprehensive written report covering each room of your home and confirm for you the current state of your ceiling fixings and if you are likely to have any issues going forward

In the event that we find no signs of sagging, moisture or poor installation practices we will confirm as much in a written report. Free of charge

If we find any issues that need to be rectified we will provide your detailed written report, a suggested course of action and quote to complete the work if required and estimated time frame

Not all issues we find need immediate action, more something to be aware of and managed over the life of the building

Where rectification work is required we schedule a start date and arrange everything from start to finish including

  • All trades - Plastering, Electrical, Insulation, Painting

  • Covering all floors/furniture

  • Removal of furniture where required

  • Rubbish removal

  • Cleaning your property at the completion of work

How much will it cost?

As a guide please find the following m2 rates we work from. Each job has different variables and we will confirm our price with an itemised quote

  • Refix existing ceiling - From $25/m2

  • Remove and replace damaged ceiling - From $80/m2
